Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

 

The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Hotel is made up of 14 breathtaking exhibits that are devoted to dangerous aquatic predators. More than 2,000 animals are displayed at Shark Reef Aquarium, featuring over 100 different species including 15 species of sharks.

 

Come face-to-face with some of the earth's most fascinating creatures in nearly 1.6 million gallons of seawater. The largest exhibit is the 1.3 million gallon shipwreck where visitors experience through an acrylic tunnel, an almost 360-degree view, teeming with sharks of all kinds, along with sawfish, giant rays, endangered green sea turtles, piranha, and jellies.

 

The Touch Pool is also a popular attraction, where guests can touch an ever-changing collection of animals including sharks, rays or horseshoe crabs.

 

A must-see at the Shark Reef Aquarium is a rare Komodo Dragon, considered the most deadly of all lizards. With approximately 60 dagger-like, serrated teeth and virulent saliva, you will see why this reptile is a creature to be reckoned with. Also do not miss the rare golden crocodile exhibit.

 

Did you know....

The gigantic Komodo Dragon can reach a lenght of 10 feet and weigh up to 300 pounds. Considered one of the most deadly lizards, the Komodo Dragon has a lethal saliva and uses razor-sharp claws and dagger-like teeth to shred its prey to pieces.

Shark Reef Aquarium Guided Tour

Be prepared to discover Shark Reef Aquarium in a whole new way. Learn about the amazing predators on an exclusive one-hour guided tour. Bring your inquisitiveness and your questions and join one of the aquarium's educator's on a personalized, educational, and entertaining journey through the Shark Reef Aquarium.

 

Cost is $25.00 per group, plus admission to the Aquarium for each guest. Tours last approximately 1 hour and can accommodate groups up to 8 people.
