If all your activity is limited to the Strip, you can always walk. This is probably the best way to really enjoy the Strip. There is a lot to see and do. Remember, however, that the Strip is a little over 4 miles long, so plan accordingly.
Wear comfortable shoes. Shoes that are too high or tight will end your walk much sooner than you had planned.
Make regular stops. Rest whenever you can to avoid getting tired quickly, maybe get refreshments at shops along the way. After each stop, you will be able to continue with a fresh burst of energy.
Take some water with you to avoid dehydration. Take as much as you can carry comfortably and plan to buy more along the way if you run out.
Spend as little time outside as possible in the extremely hot Summer months. You may want to reconsider walking. Las Vegas is in the desert after all, and the temperature is usually in the hundreds.
Remember to take a sweater or jacket with you, even if it's sweltering hot outside. It may seem nice at first when you come in from the heat, but the casinos are kept at a constant temperature of 60 degrees. Not good, if you happen to be wearing a tank top and shorts.
Cross the street at designated spots or use the pedestrian overpass. Do not jaywalk. You will be hit with a heavy fine if you're caught.
Las Vegas allows people to walk down the Strip with alcoholic beverages. Remember, however, that this is not allowed anywhere else.
Check the weather and take a map of the Strip with you so you can plan your stops. Check out the list of free attractions too. Don't miss anything!
When you're tired of walking, there are several ways to get back. Consider the following :
How to Get a Free Shuttle Ride
Hotels in Las Vegas often provide free transportation. If you know what attractions are close to these casinos, you can use the free shuttles to your advantage.

Find out where to rent a car from the start so you can see the rest of Las Vegas.
