Westcliff Airport Express (WAX) is the express bus service to McCarran International Airport. Run by the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), the Westcliff Airport Express travels from the Westcliff Transit Center to Downtown Las Vegas, with continuing service to McCarran International Airports' Terminal 1 and 3. Designed with commuters in mind, the Westcliff Airport Express service provides a fast connection between the western part of the valley, Downtown Las Vegas, the Strip and McCarran airport.
On the Vegas strip, the Westcliff Airport Express (WAX) only operates one stop at Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Blvd. (stop is located on eastbound Tropicana, alongside the Tropicana Hotel).

The Westcliff Airport Express (WAX) operates 7 days a week from approximately 5:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. on weekdays and 6:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. on weekends. During peak hours the service runs approximately every half-hour and every hour during non-peak hours.

Where to purchase bus tickets at the airport
Tickets can be purchased at the airport using the Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) located at the bus stops on Level Zero of Terminal 1 and 3. The Ticket Vending Machines only accept Visa or MasterCard credit/debit cards.
Alternately, you can purchase your pass when you board the vehicle but you must have exact change ready. Driver cannot make change.
30-Day passes will allow you access to all RTC Transit routes including: (100's, 200's, The Deuce (with valid Nevada I.D.), Strip & Downtown Express (with valid Nevada I.D.), Centennial Express, Westcliff Airport Express, and MAX) Tickets can be purchased at any of the following locations or by downloading the new rideRTC transit app.
3-Day, 15-Day and 30-Day passes are no longer sold online and sent by mail. Transit customers are encouraged to download the new rideRTC transit app to plan their trip, abd buy passes
All transit passes are invalid after 12 months from date of purchase.
Children 5 years and younger ride free and must be accompanied by an adult.

Note: The RTC will provide free rides on all of its 39 fixed routes from 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve to 9 a.m. on New Year's Day in addition to offering extended service hours for several routes.
Using Ticket Now
Ticket Now is a pay before boarding ticketing system that speeds up the boarding process by allowing passengers to purchase fares at Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) located at transit stops. See the map above for locations of TVM's
At ticket vending machines (TVM) you can purchase a one way pass, day passes or 30-day passes.
Note: Fares must be purchased at TVMs before boarding the Westcliff Airport Express, The strip downtown Express (SDX), and Deuce on the Strip
Fareboxes are still available onboard the Deuce on the Strip vehicles but passengers on Deuce on the Strip are encouraged to pay before boarding.
Things you know about riding the Las Vegas Westcliff Airport Express
Passengers must maintain possession of proof of payment received upon purchase while riding the Westcliff Airport Express.
There is no eating, drinking or smoking on board.
Practically you are not allowed to bring onboard any object that is too large to fit between passenger seats and this include luggages. By law, the aisles must be kept clear of grocery bags or other packages.
While on the Westcliff Airport Express, you must wear a shirt and shoes at all times.
No pets or animals are allowed on board with the exception of service animals which are trained to assist individuals with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Children must be removed from strollers and fold down strollers.

All Westcliff Airport Express (WAX) buses are lift-equipped, kneel to the curb, and have low floors to accommodate passengers using mobility devices. Westcliff Airport Express Lost and found
If you left an item on the Westcliff Airport Express (WAX), contact a Public Service Specialist at (702) 228-RIDE (7433) and provide the following information:
1) Route number of the bus you were riding and bus number if possible;
2) Date and time you lost the item; and
3) A detailed description of the item.
All lost and found items, including bicycles, left on transit vehicles may be picked up only at the South Strip Transfer Terminal, located at 6675 S. Gilespie Street. Items can be claimed only during the customer service booth hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., weekdays. All items found will be held for 15 days.
How to get to South Point Hotel from the Vegas Strip
From Las Vegas Blvd take the southbound Strip & Downtown Express (SDX) to the South Strip Transfer Terminal (SSTT). At the SSTT, take bus Route 117 , which will drop off across from the South Point. The return pick-up bus stop is located on the South Point property, just south of the Valet area.
Take the Westcliff Airport Express on westbound Tropicana at Las Vegas Blvd (Near Tropicana, / MGM Grand) to Las Vegas Premium Outlets North.
