Shark Reef Aquarium

The 90,560 sq ft. aquarium allows kids to wander through a glass walkway and get up-close with several species of sharks, sawfish, giant rays, endangered green sea turtles, piranha, moon jellies and rare golden crocodiles. The aquarium features more than 2,000 unusual aquatic animals in 1.6 million gallons of seawater. And, join tour guides for a thirty-minute behind-the-scenes look at the aquarium's residents. Your kids will love the petting tank with stingrays and horseshoe crabs.

Lion Habitat

This 6,000-square foot, glassed-in compound is a free attraction that features lions of all ages. Guests can be encircled by lions at any time via a see-through, walkway tunnel that runs through the Habitat. The lions actually lives on an 8.5-acre ranch, 12 miles from the MGM Grand. Small groups are brought to play with each other, cuddle with trainers and, sometimes, let out an impressive roar. CSI: The Experience
This is your chance to solve crimes like the ones seen on the hit TV show. The exhibit includes three crime scenes, two state-of-the-art labs and much more. Experiences run every 10 minutes, from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., with last entry at 9 p.m. Guests must arrive on time for their scheduled tour or they must wait for the next available tour. The experience lasts 60 to 90 minutes.

Race your kids on the four tracks at the Mini Grand Prix, play arcade games, then break for lunch at the on-site restaurant. More details..

Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat - This exotic tropical oasis is home to bottlenose dolphins, white tigers, white lions, leopards and black panthers. Sunset Stampede - A wolf's call heralds the laser light and water show in the Mystic Falls Park at Sam's Town. The fountain waters dance to music by the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra.

Just 15 minutes away from the Strip, the Zoological-Botanical Park, or Las Vegas Zoo, is entertaining and educational for kids. It is a year-round zoo including animals native to Nevada.
