Did you know that Halloween is a Nevada State Holiday? No, it’s not to honor “Sin City” as one would think. October 31 is Statehood Day, and schools and state government have the day off. It is also a great night to be out on the Las Vegas strip as many visitors are in costume, and many of the nightspots are doing special events.

Las Vegas Halloween Parade 2014
Join the wild, wacky, bizarre and funny, 5th Annual Las Vegas Halloween Parade on October 31st, 2014. Line up begins at 6:00pm and parade starts at 7:00pm on 13th Street & Fremont Street East and heads West towards Las Vegas Blvd.
Best places to watch are 13th Street, 7th Street on Fremont.
There is an after party on 3rd Street between Stewart and Ogden (Fremont East). All ages are welcome. FREE
2014 Oktober FrightFest at the Fremont Experience
Fremont Street turns into a monster party during the Halloween season. This year Fremont Street will be celebrating it's sixth annual Oktoberfest and Halloween with halloween themed FREE live entertainment and specials. OktoberFrightFest is the ultimate festival that combines Oktoberfest and Halloween for a month-long street party. Costumes are welcome.

2014 Asylum and Hotel Fear Las Vegas
Asylum & Hotel Fear takes you on a terrifying journey through the story of the Meadview Asylum, headed by Dr. Vander and his son Adriane. Patrons must navigate the dark hallways where the patients have taken over the "Asylum," leading them through a terrifying series of fright-inducing rooms including: admitting area, nurse's station, patients' rooms, therapy room, the morgue and much more.
This year, Asylum & Hotel Fear is located at the Meadows Mall, (NW corner of the jcpenneys parking lot) 4300 Meadows Lane Las Vegas, Nevada 89107. October hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 p.m. – midnight and on Thursdays and Sundays from 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. on the following dates: Oct 3 - Nov 1, 2014. In celebration of Halloween, Asylum will also be open on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. and on Thursday & Friday, Oct. 30 & Oct. 31 from 6:30 p.m. – midnight. General Admission is $15 each hunt. A VIP ticket isl also available for $20 each hunted house and allows the ticketholder to bypass the line. Nevada residents receive a discount.

Town Square turns into Town SCARY this Halloween, and children of all ages are invited to trick-or-treat through the streets of Town Square as participating stores and restaurants will be passing out candy from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 31. Several activities will take place throughout the shopping center including a variety of children's games. Town Scary is free and open to the public.
