Going to Las Vegas and need free wi-fi? If you have wireless internet access at home and also able to get online at work like most people these days, then you probably take internet connection for granted. You should, and for good reason. Getting online these days is cheap and in most places free.
Imagine being charged $10 to access your email on your laptop or PDA. I am sure you are thinking, "that's outrageous" . Well, that can easily happen to you on your next trip to Las Vegas if you come unprepared. Most cafes and coffee joints want $10 a day to grant you access to the internet. The Las Vegas Hotel room you just booked at your favorite hotel offers internet access to it's visitors but I have news for you. Internet access does not mean free internet access unless they specifically state so. And yes, the average cost per day for wi-fi access at your Las Vegas hotel room is $12.
There is no way around this fee because they add it to your bill once you ask for access.
Here at LasVegas-How-To.com, we have put together a list of Las Vegas FREE Wifi hotspots. This list is narrowed down to places within a 10 mile radius of the Vegas strip. This list of free wifi hotspots along Las Vegas strip is contributed by our website visitors and constantly updated. If you discover a place with free wi-fi that you feel we should add to this list, please let us know.
Getting connected to any of the free Vegas wifi hotspots listed below is fast and easy. If your laptop computer or personal digital assistant (PDA) is Wi-Fi enabled, all you need to do is open your web browser to automatically detect the wireless network.
Read the terms and conditions on the splash screen and press "accept"
If you are not automatically connected to a Wi-Fi once you open your web browser, follow these steps.
Ask for the network name (or SSID) of the Wi-Fi location or select it from the list of available wireless networks.
Verify that your laptop or PDA is configured to automatically obtain an IP address and DNS.
Turn off encryption and do not use the WEP key.
