How to get around Las Vegas

How To Ride a Las Vegas Trolley

If you're in no hurry to get where you're going then you might enjoy taking the Las Vegas trolley. Although it is faster than taking the Deuce, because it uses back roads behind the casinos, it does stop at almost every hotel along the way. The Las Vegas trolley has wooden seats too so take that into consideration.

Las Vegas Trolley Route

Las Vegas TrolleyThere are three Las Vegas trolley routes and they travel in a continuous loop. Take the Vegas Strip loop from the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay. Take the South loop trolley from Mandalay Bay to Grand View. Take the Downtown Las Vegas loop trolley from the downtown bus terminal to the outdoor outlet mall. You can transfer to each route easily and use the same pass.

Purchase your ticket from the driver. Pay $2.50 for a one-way ticket, $12 for a 3-day pass and $20 for a 4-day pass. There is no all-day pass but for $4.25 you can get a pass that's good from 8.30am to 5pm. For another $4.25 you can get another pass that's good from 5pm to midnight. Get one of each if you expect to be traveling around during each time slot. The Las Vegas Strip Trolley is also offering a Convention pass for those who are visiting for an event at the Convention. This pass will take you from your hotel (or one close to yours) to the Convention Center and back. You can also use it for as many rides as you like to other stops on the routes from 8.30am until midnight.

The trolley runs every 30 minutes. Check the signs or ask the driver to find out at what hotels the trolley will stop. You can also print out the map of the strip trolley routes for your convenience.

You can also charter the trolley for special occasions like a wedding, sightseeing tour or other special events. It seats 30 people. The only requirement is that you charter it for a minimum of 2 hours and pay the driver a 15% gratuity. The current rate for a charter is $120 per hour.
