Thunder from Down Under This All-Male Revue is Australia's answer to the Chippendale Dancers, and is certainly, just as well received. It's a party, it's a romp! Every night is a fantasy bachelorette party, and it is certainly a 'Girl's Night Out'. These men know how to work their audience and do a good job at whipping their Las Vegas crowds into a frenzy! |

Excalibur "I loved the Excalibur!!!!!!!"
Well, I'm back...I have a fantabulous time....I'm seriously depressed now....here's my TR: We had a 7:00am flight out of DCA with a connection in Phoenix. The flight went quite smoothly. We arrived in Las Vegas at about 11:20am. A1 Limosine was waiting by Baggage Claim. There were 9 of us all together. We took the Limo to the Excalibur. They let us out right in front of the entrance closest to the Registration desk. Registration went quite smoothly. Our room was ready, we had a remodeled room in Towere II (with the widescreen TVs).... Tower II is not that close to registration. So we trekked through the casino with our luggage and went up to our room (14254).
When we walked in the room it was extremely clean and laid out well. They don't have many TV stations, and the shower doesn't have any space for razors, shaving cream, etc. All they have is a place for a bar of soap. The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean....we were very pleased.
We gambled at the Excalibur most of the day...the dealers were nice, the pit bosses nice, but I was a bit upset when I asked for a comp for dinner and the pit boss said I had to go to the card desk. Pit bosses cant give them anymore.
We had a small meal at the Sherwood Cafe....I didn't care for it that much. I had the chicken tenders (easy, uh)...not real good, but the steak I had later in the week was delicious.
I can't go day by day....to be honest, its all a blur, and I'm not a big drinker, but we went everywhere....so I'll do it this way...and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
Hotel - Excalibur
The hotel was wonderful....we saw a few children, but nothing out of the ordinary. The time share people were bothersome, but I simply ignored them and kept walkin. Check-in was simple and I used the electronic Check-out by Tower II. I didn't like that they charged a $1 a day for phone usage, and I never picked up the phone. Not many TV stations...but when do you have time to watch TV.
Casinos - We went everywhere...(Excalibur, MGM, Bellagio, Flamingo, Imperial Palace, NY/NY, Circuscircus, Rio, Palm, Gold Coast, Riviera, Golden Nugget, Fremont, Binions, Planet Hollywood, Luxor, Ballys and Paris)...I think that's it.
The best dealers was by far...Ballys....they are so nice and so inviting. I was losing, but had a ball with the dealers. Excalibur was good too.
Best luck was at MGM....I had a nice run at Crazy 4 poker.
Riviera was the quietest I had ever seen. I mean they really are going to have to make some changes to bring people in..... it was "going out of business" quiet. That's sad, because I really like the atmosphere at Riviera.
Shopping - I didn't do any.
Food - I only enjoyed the steak at Sherwood Cafe (Excalibur). The breakfast buffet at the Excalibur was delicious and not too pricey. I also loved the food court at the Excalibur.
We also had dinner at Emeril's in MGM...FANTASTIC!!!!. I had the seared sea scallops and they melted in my mouth.... its pricey, extremely PRICEY....but well worth it.
Well I guess that's about it....I simply loved my vacation. We are going back in January 09. We are going to Hawaii for my job and then will stop back through Vegas for 3 nights....I haven't decided where we'll stay....
The Excalibur was great, I simply loved it and for those heading to this hotel...if your in the remodeled rooms, I think you'll like it too.

Excalibur "Ignore the bad reviews!!"
We booked a 10 night stay at the excalibur and after reading some of the reviews, i was a bit dubious. We stayed at the luxor a couple of years ago so we had an idea of what sort of standard to expect. First of all, check-in. We arrived at 4pm and there were no queues at all. The only advice i would give here is: avoid the reps. They are situated at the entrances and will try to sell you shows etc. I think there's some timeshare reps too because they only targeted couples. A polite 'no thanks' will do, but gets a bit tiresome after a couple of days so walk separately when you get near them and they think you're on your own and don't approach you! We booked a standard room (£485 ebookers) but when we got to the room it was quite clear we had been upgraded. As a lot of guests were only there for a few days, we assumed it was because we were staying for longer. Anyway, the room was spot-on, big plasma tv, big, comfy bed and clean. Oh yeah and a big clean bathroom too! The air-con didn't work but within an hour of speaking to reception, an engineer had been and fixed it.
There were 4 pools altogether and 3 were open for most of our stay, then all 4 on our last day when it started to get busier. The pools and pool area were very well kept and cleaned every day. No problems getting a sunbed, there were loads! Good bar. We had breakfast at the sherwood forest cafe a couple of times and although the food was very good, the service was really slow (even when it was quiet). There's loads more places to eat in the hotel so you'll never be hungry!! To be fair though, i think as long as you've got a clean room, you'll be happy. I'd DEFINATELY stay at the excalibur again and it's better than a 3star. I can't speak for the standard rooms but if you can get an upgrade, you won't be disappointed.

We were pleased with almost every aspect of this hotel and most particularly the staff who were very helpful with tips to get around town and also helping with a show ticket snafu we had (our mistake, they took care of it). The only drawback was the smoke coming from the casino filtered into the general lobby areas and shops.”

"The hotel staff are friendly and helpful but they are very restrictive about the check in time and do not like to extend the check out time. The gaming potion of the hotel is great. Good variety of games and slot machines. The steak house was absolutely wonderful, great atmosphere and service and delicious food!"

Excalibur "Enjoyed Our Stay!"
We had read mixed reviews about this hotel but were pleasantly suprised. We had booked our stay through Allegiant Air and had paid in advance. When we arrived, which was pretty late in the evening (around 10pm) the type of room we had booked was no longer available (double queen beds). So we were upgraded to a room in the newly remodeled portion of the hotel. The room was really nice and our room was cleaned thoroughly every day. We ate at the Sherwood Forest Cafe at the Excalibur and the food was pretty average, but the portions were big for the price. Service at the restaurant was so-so. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful... check-in and check-out went very smoothly. The casino here is a lot of fun and one of our favorites on the strip... drink service is really fast! We would definately stay here again

Excalibur "Good Deal For The Money"
I normally stay at The Orleans for the great rooms and price, but with the traffic congestion getting worse than ever I decided to stay on the strip. and skip renting a car this trip. I considered the Imperial Palace but decided on something a little more modern. We got a "Widescreen" room on the seventh floor. Room was very clean, a little small but not that bad. Housekeeping was good except for one day. I normally like rooms up high but it was c ertainly nice to not have to wait for the elevator ! I found the staff alright. Not great but not bad at all. Check in was very smooth and girl at the desk was helpful.
Now, let's comment on other people's complaints: I've noticed a few people complain about the poor channel selection and all I can say is sure, but why on earth are you sitting in a room watching TV ? I also noticed a few complaints about the "dark" decor. Uh - medieval theme, right ? I liked it. A nice change to the other overly bright hotels. As for the constant barrage of sales people trying to push "free" vouchers, shows, timeshares, whatever. YES, I agree completely. This is rubbish and totally unwanted. As soon as I walked in I got caught off guard and one of them actually got me over to the desk before I realized what was going on. I hate being rude to people, but the best way I dealt with them was to completely ignore them and keep walking. Or if you want to have a little fun, some of them will walk up to you with their hand out and say "Hi, how are you doing today ?" I found a great answer was to shake that hand and say "Well, I had some really bad diarrhea earlier but I'm doing alright now !" But back to the issue, let's face it - just about everywhere you go on the strip you will run into these people and a lot of them are extremely nasty. It's part of the Vegas experience. As for the complaints about too many children in the hotel - I noticed quite a few children in all the hotels. Probably the most I've seen in 12 years I've been going to Vegas. Now for my one and only complaint about the Excalibur: If you get a room next to the elevator and are a light sleeper, go back and ask for another room. The A/C drowned out most of the noise but you can hear the machinery running all night. It wasn't terrible (or I would have asked for another room) but I can see it being bad for some people. So all in all, not a bad deal for the money. I was on a tight budget and if I go again on a budget I would certainly stay again.
